Dine & Learns are a free and convenient way to learn everything you need to know about pre-planning your final wishes.

We have seen first-hand the priceless benefits that pre-planning can bring to families, and we want to give everyone in our community the opportunity to enjoy those benefits. That starts with a conversation about what pre-planning entails and how to get the ball rolling, which we discuss in detail at our local Dine & Learn events.

What does a Dine & Learn look like?

Our Dine & Learns take place at local restaurants, senior centers, living facilities, offices and libraries. Attendees are treated to a meal and an informative presentation about pre-planning as well as New York's PrePlan Trust. The group, which typically consists of around 15-20 people, is encouraged to ask questions at any point during the presentation. All attendees receive a pre-planning checklist, a vital statistics form (for death certificates), an agent of disposition form, funeral home cost information, and confirmation on who your next of kin is. After the event, attendees can set up an appointment with Ballard-Durand’s pre-planning specialists to answer follow-up questions and get their unique plans in place.

Our Dine & Learns are an introductory presentation for those who have never attended one previously. If you have, let's meet over coffee for a refresher session!
