We have seen first-hand the priceless benefits that pre-planning can bring to families, and we want to give everyone in our community the opportunity to enjoy those benefits. That starts with a conversation about what pre-planning entails and how to get the ball rolling, which we discuss in detail at our local Dine & Learn events.
Our Dine & Learns take place at local restaurants, senior centers, living facilities, offices and libraries. Attendees are treated to a meal and an informative presentation about pre-planning as well as New York's PrePlan Trust. The group, which typically consists of around 20-25 people, is encouraged to ask questions at any point during the 30-minute presentation. All attendees receive a pre-planning checklist, a health care proxy form, an agent of disposition form, an advance directive form, a list of questions for shopping funeral homes, and confirmation on who your next of kin is. After the event, attendees can set up an appointment with Ballard-Durand’s pre-planning specialists to answer follow-up questions and get their unique plans in place.
