White Plains

Walter Silberfarb,  beloved husband of the late Melinda  Lea Silberfarb,  cherished father to  Susan Vera Silberfarb  and dear friend to many, died peacefully at his  Chappaqua home  of 44 years, surrounded by loved ones on October 2, 2021. He was born to Vivian and Sam Silberfarb, 91 years ago, on May 10, 1930 in Bronx, New York.  He attended P.S 80 and DeWitt Clinton High School, and in 1952, graduated from the NYU School of Commerce.  He was a proud member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. In 1965, he developed King Sour,  an innovative and healthy alternative to traditional sour cream and then went on to create an entire line of healthier options , nationally known as "King" products. He remained President of the company until 1993, when he sold the business to care for his beloved wife  Melinda , who became ill. Walter was a dedicated businessman but his true passion in life was his wife Melinda and daughter Susan . Later in life Walters work ethic and determination were  also demonstrated on the tennis court , until the  age   of  89   he could  still  been seen  playing singles  tennis  at  Club Fit  Briarcliff  Manor where  he was  member  for over   30  years. Thanks to Walter’s generosity the Chappaqua  Police  Department  were  able  to  assist  in obtaining  their   first  bulletproof vests.   His loyalty, integrity and generosity will always be remembered by those who knew and loved  him.
