Shawn D. Bryant, Sr.

Shawn D Bryant was born on July 25, 1964, to the proud Parents Freddie Lee Bryant and Elvira Ellen Cooper Bryant at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY.

Shawn was an attendant of White Plains High School and Graduated with the CLASS OF “1982”. Shawn later joined the United States Navy from 1985 to 1989. During that time, he served in the Persian Gulf War where he was an Electrician Mate 2nd Class on the USS Missouri Battleship station in California. Shawn also went to Southern Westchester Boces Center for Adults and Community Services where he got certificates in Electricity 1 on November 12, 2002.

Shawn was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, husband and grandfather. He touched the lives of many with his smile or even if it was just a prayer. Shawn will be truly and deeply missed. Shawn’s love for Jesus Christ and his family showed through his actions. Shawn loved his two sisters, his five children, grandkids, his wife, and three stepsons. Family meant everything to him. Shawn loved to read his BIBLE and pass out tracts, he loved to donate to any local shelter. He was a good man with a good heart.

In Shawn’s earlier years he had several jobs but on January 3, 2005 he started working for a company called Con Edison in New York, where he was there for 16 years until he passed away. Boy did he love his job and his coworkers, and they all cared for him deeply. In 2007 Shawn met Selena whom he later married in December of 2008 and helped her raise her three sons from the age of 7, 4 and birth until his passing and the treated them like his own. They were happily married for 13 years.

Outside of his family and work, Shawn was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ and on September 30, 2001, he was saved at Baptist at Little Mt. Zion Holy Church in White Plains, NY where he studied the Bible and on May 10, 2014, he earned two certificates of honor in General in Bible 1-A and 1-B. Later that same year Shawn and his family moved to Connecticut where he became a member of the Calvary Temple Christian Center on May 18, 2016 and on October 28, 2017 Shawn became a Chaplain with the Embassy of the United Chaplains Ministry, INC.

Shawn D Bryant is predeceased by his father Freddie Lee Bryant and his mother Elvira Ellen Cooper Bryant.

Shawn’s survivors include his lovely wife of 13 years Selena J Brown-Bryant, three stepsons; Anthony Manners Jr., Antwone Brown, Tyqull Brown; his five children that he loved with all his heart, Shawn David Bryant, Anita La’france Davis, Brittney Janeese Bryant, Shawn Dee Bryant Jr., Porsha Latrice Bryant; his only two sisters Lisa Brown, Lyndia(Teddy) Wilson, 13 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
