Megan Emily McDonnell

September 29, 1976 — July 23, 2021

Elmsford

Megan Emily McDonnell, a vibrant mother, wife, and teacher, whose extraordinary creativity, infectious laugh, storytelling ability, and radiant spirit, enchanted all who knew her passed away on July 23, 2021. She was 44.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Megan was the first child of the late Timothy and Deirdre McDonnell. Her immediate family also included her beloved twin siblings, Jessica and the late Douglas McDonnell. Her family meant the world to her.

After high school, Megan and her family moved to New York, a place that appealed to her natural artistic abilities. Megan worked as a theater teacher in New York City for many years, primarily at The Calhoun School, where she led improvisation and storytelling activities that taught children to feel comfortable with self-expression. Her gift, connecting deeply with her students, allowed her passion for children’s theater to soar. Parents of her students sang her praises for her innate ability to bring even the most introspective students out of their shells.

It was at The Calhoun School that Megan met the love of her life, a Social Studies teacher named Carlyle Lincoln. They married in 2008. In 2012, Megan gave birth to their son, Felix Elliot – the apple of their eyes. Until the time of her passing, Megan and her family resided in the Bronx, New York.

Megan is survived by her husband Carlyle, her son Felix, and her sister Jessica.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in accordance with the wishes of the family.
