Marie (Di Caro) Imperati

December 26, 1930 — June 8, 2021

White Plains

On June 8, 2021, the beloved, Marie Imperati of Greenburgh, New York, passed away at the age of 90 years old.

Marie will be lovingly remembered by her son Arthur Imperati and his wife Annette, her loving sister Carmelina Lo Bello as well as her niece and nephews Stephen (Svetlana), Phyllis (Danny) and Frank (Grace) her grandnieces and grandnephew (Lauren, Daniel, Jennifer, Gabriella, Laura and Stefanie), as well as her twenty-two godchildren.

Marie will be reunited with her late husband Salvatore Imperati, her dear mother Antonietta Di Caro, and father, Francesco Di Caro,

Marie was born in Canicatti, Sicily. She travelled to America with her sister and mother when she was 16 to be united with her father. She received a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University . She worked as a social worker at Split Rock Nursing Home in the Bronx for 10 years. Marie had a passion for plants and had a wonderful collection of them around her home. She was a dedicated parishioner at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church . She was always up to date with sports, politics and music. She has stayed very connected to her friends and family in Italy. She was known for her quick wit, caring nature and strong bond with her family, especially her son and  sister.

Marie’s relationship with her son Arthur was very special. Regardless of the miles between them, they spoke everyday and cherished every conversation and laughter. Marie was always thinking of Arthur and Annette and loved them with her whole heart.

The wake will be held on Thursday June 10th, 2021 at Ballard Durand Funeral Home from 4 to 8pm. Marie’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 11th, 2021 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 11 Lawton Ave, Hartsdale, NY  at 10:30 am.
