Linda Anne (Smith) Grossman

Linda Anne (Smith) Grossman passed away on December 26 with her children by her side. She was 79 years old and is survived by her husband, Robert Grossman of Larchmont, NY; children, Debbie Myllek and Jeffrey Grossman; son-in-law, Michael Myllek: daughter-in-law, Susana Marques; and grandchildren, Michael Myllek and Kristen Myllek. She is predeceased by her parents, Luther and Mary Smith of York, PA, and brother, Ronald Smith of Gorham, ME.

Linda was born in York, Pennsylvania, on December 19, 1942. She attended the School for Dental Hygiene at Temple University in Philadelphia where she met Bob and moved to New York after they were married in 1964 in York. She worked as a dental hygienist in Rye, NY and loved her career as much as her patients loved her. She was a dedicated and involved member of the Church in the Highlands in White Plains, NY and, after retiring, she added volunteer work at White Plains Hospital and Pet Rescue in Harrison, NY, to her community service.

One of Linda’s joys was traveling, and she had the chance to visit many amazing locations throughout North America, plus Polynesia and the South Pacific, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Europe. She was an avid cook, baker, and candy maker and loved to share her creations with family and friends. The sunshine of her life was being with and around family, especially her grandchildren, who she glowingly watched over during their early years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11am at the Church in the Highlands at 35 Bryant Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605. There will be a luncheon in the church social hall immediately following the service, featuring some of Linda’s favorite homemade recipes. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Linda’s name to Pet Rescue and/or Memorial Sloan Kettering .
