Heilbron, Jane Bossak, 96, died January 21, 2023, peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. Wife to the late Warren Heilbron for 64 years, she lived most of her life in Scarsdale, White Plains, and Rye, New York. She was a member of Scarsdale High School, class of 1944, and graduated from Mount Holyoke College, class of 1948. She went on to receive a master's in counseling from Bank Street, ultimately creating and chairing the Career Guidance Department at the College of New Rochelle for 20 years. She enjoyed sharing her passion for travel, the arts, bridge (becoming a life master), gardening with a true green thumb, and gourmet cooking. She was devoted to her family and friends, all touched by her loving heart, spirited zest for life, and quick wit. She will be missed by her children, Gail Steinitz (Edgar), and Alan Heilbron (Kerry Malawista), grandchildren, Lauren, Erica (Tristan), Peter, David (Alexis), Anna (Dani), and great-grandson, Beckett.
The family will be receiving visitors Wednesday January 25th, 3pm to 7pm, at the Ballard Durand funeral home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY. Private graveside service at Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations in her memory to the charity of choice.
