Gina (DiLello) Guida

Gina Guida, age 66, of Garrison, NY, passed away at home on November 22, 2021, after a months-long illness.  Gina was born in 1954 in Colledimezzo (CH), Italy, to Domenica DiNardo and Nicola DiLello. Emigrating to the United States in 1968, the family settled in Yonkers, NY, where Gina graduated from Commerce High School as a cosmetologist. In 1973, she married Vincenzo Fante (deceased 1978), and in 1981, her husband of 40-years Luigi Guida.  Gina worked as a beautician at various salons in Yonkers throughout her career and as a hostess at the family restaurants of Guida’s in Ossining and later Casaletto in Elmsford. For years, she volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was recognized for her work in the “Look Good, Feel Good” program that provided hairpieces and self-care instruction for women undergoing chemotherapy. Always outgoing and full of life, Gina drew people in with her warmth and personality and was loved by family and friends.  Gina is survived by her husband Luigi, son and daughter-in-law David and Angela Fante, son and daughter-in-law Paul and Kristin Guida, son and future daughter-in-law Stefano Guida and Chris Cerutti, and grandchildren Nicholas, Kayla and Matthew, as well as her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Rosa DiLello, brother and sister-in-law Vincenzo and Licia DiLello, sister and brother-in-law Rina and Vincenzo Monaco, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Gina was preceded in death by husband Vincenzo Fante and brother Anthony DiLello.  Visitation be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services, 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY 10523.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 59 E Main Street, Elmsford, NY 10523, followed by the Mausoleum Entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
