Elizabeth (Kopko) Sottile

Elizabeth Sottile, 95, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in White Plains, NY. Elizabeth (Betty) was born on November 8, 1926 in Yonkers, NY to Michael and Anna Kopko. She graduated from Yonkers High School in 1942. Elizabeth married Frank P Sottile on March 06, 1948. The couple had four children. Betty was best known for her love of family, great home cooking and later in life her love of golf, bowling and painting. Betty was compassionate, loyal and dedicated to those in her life. Her strength and fortitude were admired by all - she was a true role model.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; daughter Kathy Culla (husband James Culla) , her only son Frank D Sottile, (wife Pattie Fournier) and by Debbie McGrath
(husband John McGrath and Doreen Capp (husband Randy Capp) - her daughters mostly affectionately referred to as "the twins". She is also survived by five grandchildren - Peter Sottile, Stephanie Harris, Melanie Stiles, Brendan McGrath and Connor McGrath as well as three great grandchildren - Adam and Oliver Sottile and Nathan Harris.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by Frank P Sottile, her beloved husband and Anna Leszio Kopko, her devoted mother. One of seven children, Elizabeth is also survived by her older sister, Margie DellaValle.

Calling hours for Elizabeth will be held at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford on Thursday, August 11, from 4PM to 7PM with a praying of the Rosary to immediately follow. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 12 at 10AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Elmsford, NY. A final viewing will be held at the funeral home for family members at 9AM Friday morning. Elizabeth's final resting place will be next to her deceased husband, Frank, at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

Wearing a mask is optional, but would be greatly appreciated if you chose to wear one.
