Donara (Garounts) Hovakimian

Donara Hovakimian, 82, of New York, New York, passed away on April 14, 2022. Donara was born on October 1, 1939 in Yerevan, Armenia, and was the daughter of Grigor and Maria Garounts. In 1961, she married Grigor Hovakimian and had two children, Armen and Marina. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Donara had a degree in electrical engineering and worked as an electrical engineer for many years. She is survived by her brother Felix Garounts, daughter Marina Hovakimian and son-in-law Ruben Karapetyan, son Armen and daughter in law Gayane Hovakimian, and grandchildren Tigran and David Karapetyan, and Aram and Sophia Hovakimian. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, April 23 at the St. Gregory the Enlightener Armenian Church, 1131 North St, White Plains, NY 10605, funeral services at 11:00 and burial to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY.
