Domenico Ruggiero

Domenico “Mimi” Ruggiero passed away on May 6, 2022 at the age of 93 at his residence in White Plains, New York. He battled Parkinson’s for over 20 years but despite his struggles, Mimi persevered and stayed strong until the very end.

He was born in Capri, Italy and followed his passion in the restaurant business. Even with a few ingredients, he could whip up a gourmet meal. Mimi met the love of his life, Adrienne, while she was vacationing in Capri.  It was love at first sight. They got married in New York in December 1967 and were married for a wonderful 54 years.

Mimi owned a deli in Scarsdale, NY “Salumeria Mimi” for 18 years. He was loved by all his customers for his charm and charismatic personality.

Mimi was predeceased by his parents, Luigi and Michelina, his sister, Rosanna and his brother, Mario.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Adrienne (Gaston), his daughter, Michele (David) Griffin and their 3 boys, his daughter, Alissa, and her two children, Anthony (13) and Adrianna (11) and his son, Mark, who cared for him until the very end.

Along with countless extended family and close friends who were like family to him. He will be sadly missed and will always have a special place in the hearts of all who loved him. We know that we can’t have you but we are happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and man.
