Angela LaMarca

Angela Carol LaMarca, age 79 passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022 in Bronx, NY. She was a graduate of City College in New York, NY and received her Master’s Degree from St. John’s University.  She was a Guidance Counselor at Westchester Community College and continued her love for teaching as an adjunct professor after her retirement. Not only was she a dedicated teacher but similarly had the same love of being a student.  She was passionate of everything Italian. As her Italian teacher said it best, ‘her love for Italy and all things Italian - especially the family, the language and the lifestyle - was immeasurable and pure. To have such a linguistically and culturally voracious student, is indeed a blessing.’

She is survived by her husband, Anthony; their son, Gregory of White Plains, NY; their son, Christopher of Portland, OR; and their daughter, Jennifer Shirreffs of Rye, NY and six beautiful grandchildren (Thomas, Sienna, Grayson, Mia, Emerson and James) whom she adored with all her heart.

Funeral services will take place at Ballard Durand Funeral home in White Plains, NY on Wednesday, January 19th with wake services from 5pm-8pm.  On Thursday, January 20th there will be a church service in her memory at 10am at St. Pius X in Scarsdale, NY followed by a burial service at the Gate of Heaven in Valhalla, NY.
