Yvonne Milliner

Yvonne Milliner, 79, of Yonkers NY passed peacefully in her sleep on November 1, 2023. She was born August 18, 1944 in Manhattan, NY to Arthur and Lillian Milliner.

Yvonne was married to Augusto Morales on December 29th, 1962 after meeting him at a dance in 1960. After marriage they lived in the Bronx and produced two beautiful daughters: Julie and Karyn.

After the births of their daughters, Yvonne continued her education obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked at several nursing homes in the Bronx before beginning a career as a nurse at the Westchester County Medical Center, where she worked in ICU, the prison and the psychiatric ward from which she retired.

In 2002, Yvonne married Lionel Turner.

Yvonne was a leading member of several groups: First World and the Sea Islands Committee. She was also an avid genealogist and enjoyed spending time playing bingo at the Nepperhan Community Center near her home in Yonkers.

Yvonne is survived by her two daughters, Julie and Karyn, her grandson, Zakhur, many extended family members and friends.

Yvonne was known for her warm and friendly smile and her calm and laid back demeanor.

There will be a Celebration of her life at the Nepperhan Community Center
