On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, Stephen Coon tragically passed away. Stephen was born on January 10, 1991 in a snow storm, ushering in his lifelong love for winter and snowsports. Stephen went to Hawthorne and Columbus Elementary Schools and Westlake Middle and High Schools. He was actively involved with Scouting from kindergarten until senior year in high school, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Much of his Eagle Scout project was completed at the SPCA in Briarcliff, showcasing his love and compassion for animals. He went on many of the Scouting trips and attended the Boy Scout summer camps, regularly assisting younger scouts in their endeavors. He loved skiing, hiking, skateboarding, scuba diving and was up for any adventure. He held part time jobs in town and worked for his father's business, Regcomp, from high school up until his untimely death. In the summers until he graduated from college, he worked at Sun and Surf Beach Club as a cabana boy, a job which he loved and which showed off his stellar work ethic and customer service abilities.

Upon graduating from Westlake High School in 2009, he furthered his education at Boston College and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. He took a job at Collier Construction and worked his way up to vice president where he managed a variety of multimillion dollar projects ranging from high-end residential construction to specialty commercial projects. He became known at that company for his professionalism, dedication, and leadership.

Stephen's passion for life, generosity, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him. Stephen shared a bond to his siblings Rachel and Nicholas like no other. He stood as a champion for his Uncle Chris in ways few would understand. Stephen showed compassion and would be the first to jump in when a need became apparent, whether in the neighborhood, at work, in school, at church, or in Scouts.

Stephen had an adventurous spirit and fearless heart. He was a man of the Lord, baptized in 2021 and participated in ministries at his church. He was a hardcore Beatles fan and an avid sports fan, favoring the Yankees, Giants, Nets and his many fantasy football teams. He was a fierce lover of all animals, particularly his mother's multiple cats,

He is survived by his mother, Victoria Coon and his father, Ernest Coon; his stepfather, Sean Kelly and stepmother, Debbie Coon; his sister Rachel Smith and her husband TJ; his brother Nicholas Coon and his partner Jeanne; and his uncle Christopher Baumert. He is also survived by grandparents William and Denise Baumert and was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Judith Baumert and paternal grandparents Eleanor and Ernest Coon. He is also survived by many aunts and cousins and countless friends from across the Universe.

A celebration of life was held November 8th, 2025 to honor and remember Stephen's remarkable life and the love he shared with so many.
