Listen to Obituary

On Sunday October 26th, Stephen Coon tragically passed away. Stephen was born on January 10, 1991 in a snow storm. Aside from his parents, the first thing that greeted him was Lavina, the cat who did a sniff and meow showing dismay as she was about to be replaced. Stephen went to Great Beginnings Nursery School, Hawthorne and Columbus Elementary school, and Westlake High School class of 2009. Stephen went on all the school trips, an Eagle Scout choosing to take care of the pets at the ASPCA. An early reflection of his compassion and committment to helping others. He loved skiing, hiking, skateboarding, and was up for any adventure. He worked summers at Sun and Surf beach club where he was a famed cabana boy or so people would say.

He furthered his education at Boston College and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science to save the environment. He took a job at Collier construction and worked his way up to vice president where he managed a variety of multimillion dollar projects ranging from high end residential to commercial. Where he was known for his professionalism, dedication, and leadership.

A fierce lover of all animals including his mother's multiple cats. He stood as a champion for his Uncle Chris in ways few would understand. Stephen has an adventurous spirit and fearless heart. A devoted Beatles fan, avid Yankee fan. Stephen's passion for life, generosity, sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.

Stephen shared a bond to his siblings Rachel and Nicholas like no other. Stephen showed compassion and would be the first to jump in when a need became apparent.

He was a man of the Lord baptized in 2021. He is survived by his Mother Victoria Coon, Step Father Sean Kelly, Father Ernest Coon, Step Mother Debbie Coon, Uncle Christopher Baumert, Brother Nicholas Coon and his Partner Jeanne, Sister Rachel Smith and her Husband TJ, his grandparents William and Denise Baumert and predeceased by maternal grandmother Judith Baumert, paternal grandparents Eleanor and Ernest Coon. He is also survived by countless friends from across the Universe.

A celebration of life will be held November 8th 2025 to honor and remember Stephen's remarkable life and the love he shared with so many.
