Sixto Peralta Ancheta, age 92, passed away due to illness on September 10, 2016, in Nyack Hospital at Nyack, NY. He was born on August 2, 1924 in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines. His parents Leoncio and Isabel passed away when he was five years old and was raised by her older sisters Mercedes and Ambrosia. He was one of 6 children and he survived WWII while living in Manila. After the war he moved back to La Union Province to complete his high school education in the city of Bacnotan. He met his first wife Lourdes Ricanor and married in 1946 and they had eight children and lived in Roxas District, Quezon City, Philippines. His first wife passed away in 1967. He graduated from Far Eastern Uiversity with a degree in Accounting and Commerce. He worked at National Waterworks Department for 20 years. He remarried to Milagros Estrada and he immigrated to the US in 1968 with the support of his cousin Dr. Bernardo Peralta. He had a commendable career as a computer programmer/analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank for 20 years and retired in 1989. He lived in Staten Island, NY with his wife Milagros and had a son Gerald. Milagros passed in 2009. He was currently living in Hartsdale, NY with his son, daughter in law and grand sons. Sixto lived a full life blessed with adventure, laughter, good friendships and good health. He was a competitive chess player, he enjoyed gardening and his vegetable garden was a beautiful site to see. He also enjoyed going to the horse races and watching the Filipino channel. But most of all he loved celebrating life and activities with his 4 generations of family and friends.
Sixto is survived by 5 sons - Andy (Bonnie), Hermenegildo, Tanny (Marcia), Sixto Jr, Gerald (Malou). 4 daughters Florentina (Richard), Ludy (Frank), Shirley (Tom), Mercy (Herbert). And was blessed with 20 grand children, 25 great grand children and 2 great great grand children.
