Salvatore Ferdico

Salvatore Ferdico 86, of Yonkers, NY passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2019. Salvatore was born in the Bronx, NY on June 14, 1932 to the late Peter and Frances (nee Malazzo) Ferdico. Salvatore married the love of his life Gloria Farago on Aug. 31, 1958 who predeceased him in 2007. Salvatore proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War on the Hornet Aircraft Carrier. After honorably being discharged from the Navy he worked as an electrical engineer and became self employed for 40 years before retiring. Salvatore was survived by his two loving children Glenn Ferdico of Garrison, NY and Holly Kimmel of Millwood, NY. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Justin & Alex Ferdico of Garrison, NY and Lauren Kimmel, of Hartsdale, NY, Samantha Kimmel of NY, NY and Joshua Kimmel of Queens, NY. Salvatore will be greatly missed. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Wednesday 11 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY to follow.
