Roland Tai

Roland Dominic Tai passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at age 65. He is survived by his wife, Ann-Marie of Connecticut and his two sons, Christopher and Jeffrey of New York as well as three brothers, his sister, extended family and loyal friends.

Roland was born on May 2, 1948 as the second son of William Kitong Tai and Bobbish Soong Tai in New York City. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx where he played varsity handball. Upon graduating in 1965, he attended CUNY Baruch and earned a BBA in Business Administration in 1970 before going on to work for Panasonic, American Can, Nestle and various other major corporations. He later started his own marketing business.

Roland married Ann-Marie in 1972. In 2013 he wrote: “It does remind us how important the values we teach our children are, and how close we develop strong relationships because great memories live on as do passed-down values.” His exceptional sons, Christopher, 33, and Jeffrey, 31, are living proof of the values he and Ann-Marie instilled.

Roland will always gaze down on his family with a smile and great pride. A memorial celebration is planned for late March/early April.
