Robin Dana Rattner (Rabinowitz), passed away on Friday, July 3rd, 2026. Robin was born on July 8,
1961 at the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn. She grew up in Hartsdale, NY. Robin is survived by her
husband Michael and her daughters, Emily and Sarah; and remembered by her beloved sister, Riki
MacKillop, brother in-law Colin MacKillop, nieces Rebecca and Jillian, sister-in-law Beth
Rattner-Renz, nephews Matthew and Jake, father-in-law Marc Meltzer, and mother-in-law Carol
Meltzer.
Robin studied theatre at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and later pursued her masters
degree in education from Manhattanville College in Harrison, NY. She was a cherished elementary
school teacher in the Greenburgh Public School District for 33 years, the majority of which were spent
in first grade, before her well-deserved retirement in 2019.
Robin will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and unwavering strength.
She had a vibrant personality, always making her presence known, through her quick wit, adventurous
spirit and charisma. She was a friend who anyone could count on.
Robin was married to Michael for 31 beautiful years. Together, they shared a special bond through
their unique senses of humor and their love for family. Michael made it his mission to lovingly care for
Robin and did so with steadfast commitment. Robin was a wonderful mother to her two daughters,
Emily Lynn and Sarah Joy, whom she adored more than anything. They were her pride, joy and
happiness. Robin was beyond proud of her daughters and made sure everyone knew it.
One of Robin's greatest pleasures was hosting large family gatherings on special occasions,
particularly Passover Seder and Thanksgiving. She longed for the summers where she went on family
road trips to amusement and water parks, explored state parks, and relaxed on the beach. Robin
enjoyed board games, whale watching, jewelry, and growing tomatoes. She spent her time
surrounded by many friends, including her Mahjong group, Book Club and the "Backyard Beauties".
Her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing
her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 7th 2026, at 1:00pm. Located at Sharon
Gardens, 271 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, NY 10595.
The family will be sitting shiva at 16110 Town Green Drive, Elmsford, NY 10523 during the following
