Roberta Louise Hurley

Roberta Hurley, also known as Bobbie, 82, of Yorktown Heights and formerly of Elmsford, NY and the Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026. Born on September 2, 1943 in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of Mary and Louis Heringer. She grew up in the Bronx and later made her home in Elmsford, where she spent many years building a life centered on family, faith and friendship.

Bobbie was a devoted wife to James Hurley for 54 years. Together they created a loving home and raised a family that remained the center of her life. She was a proud mother and grandmother. Her grandsons were the highlight of her life.

Bobbie enjoyed painting, traveling the American West and she loved animals of all kinds. Over the years she had many pets, whom she loved and cared for deeply. She was also a proud American. She touched the lives of many through her warm smile and caring nature. Her home was always a gathering place for family, friends, and neighbors. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and cherished the laughter, friendships, and memories created around her kitchen table.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Scaglione and her husband, Bill Scaglione; her son, James Hurley Jr. and his fiancée, Sylvianne Del Ponte; and her cherished grandsons, Mark and Michael Scaglione. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, James Hurley, her son, Michael Hurley, and her parents, Mary and Louis Heringer.

Her family will remember her for the love she shared, the wisdom and advise she imparted, and the example she set through a life well lived.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Ballard Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford, NY, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Elmsford, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
