Robert William Napurski, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at home with his son. He was the widower of Arlene Hill Napurski. They married in 1957 and shared 59 years together building a home and family.
Born March 4, 1932 he was the son of Albert and May. He was a graduate of Saunders Trades and Technical High School. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy to serve during the Korean War. Once he returned home, he worked for Preservation Tree Company and General Motors. He attended night classes while working full time to fund his ultimate dream. Owning his own salon. He achieved this goal and opened The Argo in Hastings on Hudson, where he was the owner/operator for thirty-five years.
Robert loved all things sports and over the years he participated in a variety of leagues, including football, baseball, softball, and bowling. He loved to fish at Captree State Park. He was also an avid golfer and had a killer swing. When not honing his athletic abilities, working to build a better life for his family, or helping Arlene re-do some part of the house, he could be found building birdhouses or learning alternative ways to remain healthy.
He is survived by his son Glenn, his daughter Joi, his sisters Alberta Harmonay, Faith Napurski and Grace Poli. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arlene, his brothers Ernest, Edwin, Albert, and Frederick, his sisters Carol and May, his parents Albert and May.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 pm on December 17 at the Church of the Magdalene at 525 Bedford Road in Sleepy Hollow. The service will be streamed for those not able to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and family take a moment to hug loved ones, to reach out and connect with old friends, and remember that experiencing this life is just as important as reaching your goals.
