Rita M. Wind

Rita Wind 89, formerly of Thornwood NY passed away peacefully on May 1st 2022 at The Grove in Valhalla NY. Rita was born on October 22nd 1932 in Yonkers NY to the late James and Mary (Ducey) Howley. Her love for her family and friends was of paramount importance and those fortunate enough to know Rita will miss her dearly.  Everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Rita recognized her steadfast approach for helping others and following her religion. Please take a moment to thank God for a simple pleasure in your life and say a prayer for the life of Rita Wind .Rita is predeceased by her loving husband Gregory Wind Sr, (Brothers) William & Thomas Howley, and (Sisters) Margaret DePonto & Rose Brink.  She is survived by her children Greg & Gail (Nicoletti) Wind Jr, Linda & Ted Magaletti, Theresa & Joseph Magaletti, and Kevin & Jeanne (Dispenza) Wind. Rita was a loving grandmother and also survived by Kelli Wind, Krista Kolodzinski, Tricia Harbaugh, Diana Hutson, Michael Magaletti, Joseph Magaletti Jr, Michelle Magaletti, Brendan Wind, Jennifer Wind, and eleven great-grandchildren.May her loving soul swiftly ascend to heaven where she will be greeted by all of those she has lost, which she may now join together again for eternity. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Wednesday, May 11,2022 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
