Richard Carravone was born on January 21, 1940, at Saint Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York. He was the beloved son of Salvatore Carravone and Theresa (Sarni) Carravone, both of whom predeceased him. Richard was also predeceased by his two brothers, Joseph Carravone and Salvatore Carravone Jr., as well as his brother-in-law, Paul Lupinacci. He was further predeceased by his sisters-in-laws, Annette Lupinacci and Linda Lupinacci. Raised in White Plains, Richard formed lifelong friendships and developed deep, lasting ties to the community.
Richard attended Post Road Elementary School and White Plains High School. As a young man, he loved sports and played football, baseball, and basketball throughout high school. After graduating, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marines, serving as a Private First-Class Marine.
Upon returning home, Richard continued his education at Westchester Community College, where he earned an associate degree in accounting. He went on to take additional courses and remained a lifelong learner with a strong interest in business, taxes, and finance.
In October 1963, Richard married his beloved wife, Lois Capobianco Carravone. Together they shared a loving marriage and raised two children: Keith Carravone (Rosana Mirza Carravone) and Cindy Carravone DiMaggio (Philip DiMaggio).
Richard was a proud and devoted grandfather to Nicolette DiMaggio Marshall (Ryan Marshall), Richard DiMaggio, Torie DiMaggio, and Nicholas Carravone. Richard also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
Professionally, Richard worked as a Tax Analyst for major CPA firms and corporate organizations, where he was respected for his knowledge and dedication. Outside of work, he found his greatest joy in his family, his friends, and an active life. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he served as Head of Little League, coached youth teams, and continued playing softball and basketball with friends well into adulthood to stay active and connected. He never missed a game or activity for his children and grandchildren, cherishing every minute.
Richard was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory, kindness, and passion for life will live on through his family and the many lives he touched. As he would always quote "Semper Fi."
