It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, Rhaysa Maida Baez, who left our side on September 21, 2024, at the age of 70.
Rhaysa was one of four siblings and grew up in the town of Baní, in the Dominican Republic. She attended Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in Santo Domingo, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Bio analysis.
On December 6, 1980, Rhaysa married Francisco Baez. They welcomed their first daughter, Maida, in July 1982, their son, Frank, in August 1984, and their youngest daughter, Rosslyn, in September 1988.
Rhaysa worked in phlebotomy for over 20 years in the Bronx, NY, where she had resided with her family since 1989. As a loving mother and devoted wife, she was incredibly proud of her three children, who were the light of her life. Their accomplishments were a testament to her guidance and dedication. From their mother, they learned the importance of education, passion, and persistence.
Rhaysa had a timeless elegance that is rare to come by. She was compassionate, peaceful, and had an incredibly kind soul, always accompanied by a beautiful smile. She had a love for arranging flowers, interior design, and fashion.
Above all, Rhaysa adored her family. Her husband, Francisco, was always by her side, and they shared a love that lasted a lifetime. She was a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know her, always giving selflessly to those in need.
Rhaysa lived for her children and her four grandchildren: Liam (8), Dylan (7), Sophia (5), and Ayla (3).
Rhaysa's passing has left us heartbroken. She leaves a void that can never be filled, but we will forever cherish the beautiful memories she left behind. May she rest in eternal peace.
We love you and will miss you.
