Phyllis Schlossberg

Phyllis J. Schlossberg, passed away on January 25, 2022 after a thirteen year never ending courageous battle against Cancer. She is survived by her loving son Michael S. Settler, and her amazing daughter in laws Mona Settler, Cissy Settler and Susan Settler.  Phyllis was the daughter of the late Morton and Rena Goldfinger. Her two sons Richard Settler and Robert Settler unfortunately predeceased her along with her beloved husband Jack Schlossberg. “Grandma Phyllis”, as she was known by her adoring grandchildren will always remember the wonderful times they spent with her and those 5 hour phone conversations. Ryan, Kevin, Corey, Sean, Summer, Chloe, Julia and Lauren Settler were her special grandchildren as well as her two amazing and adorable great granddaughters, Lucy and Reese Settler. She will also be missed by Chelsea and Samantha Settler, Ashley Shaw and Brittany Canter.  They all brought light into her life! Phyllis raised her family in Rye NY as well as Beverly Hills California.  She was an accomplished boutique owner in the Seventies and Eighties with a very successful womens boutique in Rye, NY known as Friendly Relations.  She famously coined the phrase “rack-therapy” with her customers at the shop. She went on to work with Real Estate in NYC and the Hamptons in Long Island NY. Phyllis flourished in those careers as well and eventually settled in Southampton NY before returning to her roots of Westchester County. Services are at Ballard Funeral home on Friday January 28th at 10:am which is located at 2 Maple Avenue in White Plains NY . In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Lung Association under the Team “Uncle Buck Strong” which was set up for Phyllis’ son, Robert Settler whom passed away from Lung Cancer and Phyllis was a strong advocate for.
