Pauline Horan quietly departed this life on September 3, 2021, at Mid Pinellas Care Center in Florida. She was born in the Bronx, NY to parents who left Germany prior to WWII. Her father was a member of the German Olympic bicycling team and came to NY during Pre-Olympic trials in 1936. He stayed in the United States and was later joined by his family in NY.
Pauline, formally of North White Plains, and Peekskill, NY retired to St. Petersburg Fl. Her greatest joy in life was her family. In 1968 she married Thomas J Horan and a real life “Brady Bunch” was created, forming a blended family of 7 sons and one daughter. She became the mother of 8 children at the age of 29.
After her children were grown, she attended college and became a social worker with Westchester County in New York as an advocate for substance abusers in the criminal courts. Her advice was valued by many parents and by court judges.
She was a devout Christian and parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla for more than 40 years. She served on the parish council, taught religious education, and served as a Eucharistic minister. She continued her ministry after moving to FL until March 2020.
Pauline loved her God, her faith, her family, and many friends. Her husband Thomas J Horan predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by her children, Debra Ross-Horan, Thomas (Jayne),Charles J ( Cindy), William ( Carol), Charles G. ( Terry), Michael ( Connie), Peter ( Trish) and Christopher., as well as 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
