Pauline "Lee" Dante, formerly of Yonkers and Valhalla NY, passed away peacefully on June 19th at her home in Yorktown Heights at the age of 96 after a long illness. Born in the Bronx, NY to her late parents Michele and Rosa Panzarino, she was pre-deceased by her 3 sisters, Antoinette Guarino, Marie Cirile-Spagnuolo and Elvira Ferraro. Pauline had a distinguished 28 year career in law enforcement, rising to the rank of Detective 2nd Grade with the NYPD, and earning numerous awards and commendations for her service.
Her first husband, fashion designer Vincent Dante, passed away in 1973 after 24 years of marriage. Her second husband, NYPD Detective John Paul Capobianco passed away in 2017 after 42 years of marriage.
Pauline is survived by her 3 children, Philip Dante, Paula Vincenza Dante and Rosalinda Dante, and her 3 grandchildren, Nicolina Dante, Vincent Dante-Maniglia and Bianca Rose Maniglia.
Pauline will be remembered for her warm smile, her unique sense of humor, her support for family members and her fabulous lasagna. She particularly enjoyed attending dance and vocal recitals and theatrical productions that her children and grandchildren performed in. She also took pleasure in doing crossword puzzles, doing Tai Chi and playing Uno, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit with the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contribution to The Parkinson's Foundation or the NYC PBA Widows and Children's Fund.
