Born in Brooklyn, New York, to James Morris and Agnes (Morrell) Morris, Paul is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debora Hughes Morris; brothers, James Morris and William Morris; sisters, Mary Aurea Morris and Bernadette Elkind; brothers-in-law, Clifford Elkind and Antonio Gonçalves; nieces, Christine Gonçalves, Catherine Gonçalves and Nora Elkind; and nephew, Peter Elkind. He was predeceased by his sister Claire M. Gonçalves.
Following his graduation from New York University and subsequent CPA certification, Paul embarked on a long, successful career in financial services, culminating in his position as Chief Financial Officer of National Bank of Canada Financial. Post-retirement, Paul nurtured his lifelong love of reading, history and travel, which included several visits with Debora to historical sites both here and abroad.
Known for his charm, wry wit and ability to make people laugh, Paul will be remembered most for his generosity, kindness and abundance of thoughtful deeds for family and friends.
A special thank-you to the Hughes family, siblings, spouses and children, for their numerous contributions of time and talent over many years, especially during the course of a very difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the Morris family would appreciate a donation in Paul's name to Nazareth High School, Brooklyn, New York.
