Patricia graduated from Lansingburgh High School in Troy, NY and later attended Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY. In 1954 she married Leland C. Warner. Working together they were co-owners of Sterling Auto Service in Schenectady, NY. Devoted to raising their three daughters, Patricia channeled her efforts into working with the Schenectady City Schools, where she served as PTA President for many years, bringing enriching programs and activities to benefit the girls and young women of the area. Her dedication to empowering girls led her to found the Grout Park branch of the Girls Clubs of America, where she served in various roles and as a teacher of dance and art.
In 1968, under Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller, Patricia was chosen as the first Civil Defense Commission Director for Women's Activities for the State of New York, a position she held for three years. She then accepted a role with the New York State Department of Labor in White Plains, where she served her community until her retirement in 1991.
Patricia set her goals and worked tirelessly to achieve them while helping others do the same. Always smiling, generous of heart, time and spirit, she would help anyone in need from a stray cat to an elderly neighbor, giving them loving care and the attention they deserved. She was a contributing member and officer in numerous community organizations throughout her life. Having abundant interests, Patricia found great joy in playing her grandmother's grand piano and enjoyed singing, dancing, needle art, reading, and gardening, taking great pride in her alluring flowers.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Wendy (Skip) Metcalf, Margaret (Scott) Cole, and Debra (David) Scheurich, her sister Barbara Corcoran, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as her caring friends. She was preceded in death by her loving companion Richard Kappus, her parents, her brother Jimmy and her cherished grandmother, Stella Patrick
