Nicola DiBenedetto of Plainfield, CT died Monday, December 20, 2004. He was 80.
Nicola was born in Bisceglie, Italy on March 14, 1924 to Joseph and Caterina Gallo DiBenedetto.
With hope and determination, Nicola immigrated to the United States of America on December 23, 1952 and settled in Bronx, New York. He and his wife (Donata) raised four children and helped raise a granddaughter. A hard worker, he was a Mechanic at Con Edison with a flawless work record for over 30 years. Nicola is known by family and friends for his wonderful stories, sayings, laughter, kindness and generosity.
Nicola is survived by his wife, Donata ("Tina"), daughter Caterina (Vincenzo) Todisco, sons Mario and Vincent (Lena), granddaughter Patricia Todisco, and Penny. A brother, Carlo (Lena) DiBenedetto of Boynton Beach, FL., and a sister, Lisa of Bisceglie, Italy, also survive him.
Nicola will join his son, Joseph G. DiBenedetto, who passed on October 10, 2003.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 23, 2004 at 10am at Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, 92 South Lexington Avenue, White Plains. Friends may call at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, at South Broadway White Plains Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, NY.
