Nicholas Macli 91, of Bronx, NY passed away peacefully on Aug. 18, 2019. Every day for over 30 years Nicholas Macli’s whistle could be heard as he happily walked to his beloved butcher shop, Macli Brothers, on Tremont Ave. in the Bronx. Sadly, that happy whistle was silenced on August 18, 2019, but his love for his family and the examples he set for his sons and his grandsons will never be forgotten.
Nick taught us by his actions that family is to be loved and cherished above everything, and by being totally unselfish is how you show true love. He showed us that if you love to work and love your chosen profession you can create a very successful business. Nick’s passion was cars and making them sparkle and he enjoyed working with weights to stay healthy. He will be remembered as the physically strongest person we ever knew packed into a 5-foot 8 inch body.
His love and dedication to his wife Lillian Macli was truly extraordinary. Lillian passed away in 2012 and now the family can find joy knowing that they will once again be reunited. Nick will forever be remembered by his sons Charlie and Tommy, their wives Rachele and Donna, by his 2 grandchildren David and Michael, and 3 great-grandchildren Max, Calvin and Jackson.
A Celebration of Nick's life will be held on Wednesday August 21st from 4-8 PM at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Ave, Hawthorne NY 10532, 914-769-4404, Where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM. Entombment, Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale, NY to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Nick’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
