Miriam (Powell) Bromberg

Miriam Bromberg, 93, of New Rochelle, NY passed away peacefully on June 14, 2018. She was born on February 13, 1925 to the late William and Sadie (Berger) Powell in NYC.  She received her undergraduate degree from NYU and MSW from Smith College.  She was a homemaker.  Predeceased by devoted husband, Joseph Bromberg. She is survived by her loving  children, Maddy (James) Posig of Burlington VT, Amy (Harry) Bromberg Funk of Minneapolis, MN and Richard (Aliza Burton) Bromberg of Yonkers, NY; and her sister Harriet (Leo) Krauss of Woodbury, NY.  She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren, Andrea (Rob) Roley, Benjamin (Holly Malone) Bromberg, Daniel (Amy Amato) Bromberg, Wyatt Posig, and Sadie and Willie Bromberg Funk, and three great grandchildren, Harper and Mira Roley and Charlie Bromberg. Mimi was blessed to have been lovingly cared for in her last few years by Claudette Simpson.  Mimi loved her family, good food and travel and was a lifelong avid reader.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research,The Make-A- Wish Foundation and St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana would be appreciated. Funeral Service, Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY on Monday June 18 at noon.  Interment to follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
