Ming, 84, was born in Shanghai, China on December 13, 1940. She moved to Taipei, Taiwan at age 7, when her father took a job in Taiwan. She did her secondary education and college education in Taiwan. In 1963, with a desire to pursuing advanced knowledge, she came to US and enrolled in New York University and earned a PhD in hydromechanics. After her PhD, Ming did post-doctoral research at University of Colorado.

She was offered a job with US Navy at Naval Ship Building Research Yard in Potomac, MD and moved to Washington DC area where she will spend the rest of her life. At the Naval Ship research yard, she specialized in ship shape hydrodynamics modeling. She is a leading researcher in the field. She wrote many technical reports and publications. After her official retirement, she returned to the Naval Research Yard and worked as a contractor until now.

Never married, Ming has always expressed her love towards her nieces and nephews. Ming had cared for them, brought them holiday gifts, took them on summer vacations, and generously supported her nieces and nephews.

While living in the DC area, Ming found God and became a devoted Catholic. Catholic church was a big part of her life. She went to church regularly and made many close friends in church. The family wishes to express their thanks for the friends who made the trip from the DMV area to attend her funeral.

All her life, Ming has been a caring, kind, hardworking, and generous person, who always put others before herself. She will be missed by all who knew her. Ming will always be in her family and friend's heart with loving memories.
