Michael F. Tota

Michael Frank Tota, age 92, died after a short illness on September 16, 2026. Mike grew up in the Bronx and was an avid Yankee fan. He was the first person in his family to ever graduate college, inspiring multiple generations of his family. In 1959, Mike married Betty, his next-door neighbor, childhood sweetheart, and love of his life.

Mike faithfully served his community through his six decades of practicing dentistry in Hawthorne, NY. He was an empathetic and skilled clinician with life-long patients as he was always happy to make time for their stories.

Even with all his hard work, Mike still found time to volunteer through his work in the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club and Ninth District Dental Association. He was an active member and served as past president of both organizations.

Mike's greatest achievement of all was his family. He spent his entire life helping them any way he could, and his greatest pleasure was celebrating their successes. He still, however, always found a little time to try to solve his golf game.

Michael was predeceased by his loving parents Rocco and Mary, sister Camille, and son Christopher. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" and his children, Michael (Laurie) and Matthew (Kimberly). He is also survived by his brother Robert(Vivien), nieces and nephews Robert, Catherine, Debra, and James, and his grandchildren Leighann (Erik), Madeline, Delia, Alison, Stefan, Katherine (Jeremy), Andrew, and Nathaniel. He will be missed by all of us and never forgotten by any of us.
