Menelaos G. Rizoulis was born in Auburn, Maine to faithful and hard working parents Katherine and Gregorious. He served as an altar boy in the Greek Orthodox Church and played high school football. Manny proudly attended Bowdoin College where he was president of his fraternity and graduated with academic honors. He later graduated from Harvard with his MBA. Manny joined the apparel industry and worked for several privately owned high end retail organizations. He worked in the industry when fashion innovation, glamour and elegance were de rigueur. As the President of Montaldo's through the 70's and 80's, Manny built a strong business and developed a legacy of teamwork. He was a lifelong "women's libber" and sponsored many female buyers to take on leadership roles. He encouraged integrity, hard work and creativity and lead by example. Manny was a dedicated servant in the Church of Our Savior in Rye New York for over 40 years. His strong faith, love of community and family fueled his work to establish a vibrant and active Greek Orthodox community. He also was a vocal and steadfast participant in his local White Plains community where he took great pride in his neighbors and neighborhood. Symphony, opera and gardening were among Manny's personal passions. The love of beauty and harmony were a constant thread through his life. He is survived by his loving wife Katherine, daughters Anne and Joanna, their husbands, children and his two sisters. Contributions can be made in Manny's memory to the Rizoulis Family Scholarship at Bowdoin College.
