Mary Louise Mackeja, of White Plains, NY, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in Westchester Medical Center she was 80 years old.
Mary was born, February 28, 1928 in Shinyanga, Tanzania, daughter of the late Meki Mackeja and Anna Schubert Mackeja.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
She worked as the Secretary General for Red Cross in Tanzania.
Surviving are her son, Edward David (Esther) Makwaia of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, sisters, Martha Jane (Michael) Mtebe and Janet (George) Kahama, 4 grandchildren, uncle Hellmuth Schubert, cousins, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many friends.
Interment will be in the Kinondoni Cemetery, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Wednesday, May 22, 2008.
