Marion Pedrow

Marion Pedrow, 94, transitioned to be with the Lord on July 19, 2025, leaving her children, Fitzallen Sessoms, Whamon Pedrow, Jr., Clifford Pedrow, Gloria M. Rivera and a host of family, friends, and acquaintances who loved her and who will “miss” her on this side of life, but who cherish the time the Lord allowed. “To God Be the Glory.”

Born in South Boston, Virginia on January 1, 1931, to the late Howard Taft Hall and Emma Chappell Hall, her early years and schooling were spent in South Boston (Omega).

When her parents migrated North for better job opportunities, Marion and her brothers, Howard and Lorenzo, remained on the family property under the care of relatives. It wasn’t long before they joined their parents in White Plains, New York. Marion attended local schools for a time but soon went to work.

Marion would spend the next fifty plus years working and caring for others. She never let her health challenges get in the way of her service to her family and to others. She cared for the sick and elderly, did domestic work, cleaned office buildings, baked mini sweet potato pies for a local deli where people lined up to make sure they got a pie hot from the oven before they ran out. And who can forget her scrumptious German Chocolate Cake! Her baking and cooking were legendary; there were many willing to compensate her for her baked goods.

Though raised as a Baptist and a member of Union Baptist Church in Greenburgh, Marion became a Jehovah’s Witness in the 1970’s. She was a familiar face and an active member at the Kingdom Hall in White Plains until she developed mobility and health issues. She still managed to listen to the services virtually and when possible, attend the assemblies.

Marion is pre-deceased by her parents, Howard T. Hall and Emma Chappell Hall, her brothers-Howard H. Hall and Lorenzo D. Hall, a sister -Delores Hall, sons -James McRae and Michael McRae, and husbands-Whamon Pedrow and James W. McRae.
