Marie Rakowski

Marie Barber Rakowski, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in the comfort arms of her family she cherished. Marie was born on February 20, 1931, in New York City.

On September 20, 1952, Marie married the love of her life, Adam J. Rakowski. Together they built a marriage of unwavering commitment and love; a partnership that lasted until Adam's passing on June 9, 2003.

Marie is survived by her five children: Regina; Stephen and his wife Margaret; Andrew and his wife Valerie; Mike and his wife Shawn; and Bryan. She was a devoted grandmother to Laura and Lindsay (Regina); Amy, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Christina (Andrew); Sydney and Nicholas (Bryan); Brooke and Brenden (Michael). Additionally, she leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her former daughter-in-law, Jackie Rakowski, who remained like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Pizarro and Edward Barber.

The Rakowski's built their home and raised their family in Oakland, New Jersey. After Adam's passing, Marie relocated to Fairview, Texas, where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Marie had a deep love of animals and gardening. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, determination, and for the warmth she brought to those around her.

Her family was her greatest source of joy, and her legacy will live on in each of them.

Marie Barber Rakowski will be remembered by all those who loved her with warmth and affection.
