Marie Mazzella

Marie Mazzella, 99, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 12, 1925, Marie lived a long and meaningful life grounded in faith, family, and quiet strength.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Frances (Joseph) Conte and Lucy (Mario) Conte; her cherished grandchildren, Annamarie Conte, Christina (Gerard) Blenkle, Sylvia (Brian) Lynch, and Ralph Conte; and her beloved great-grandchildren, John-Joseph, Devany, James, Sebastian, and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her husband Atillio Mazzella and many loved ones who now welcome her home.

Marie worked for over 30 years at Macy's in White Plains, where she was known for her dedication and kind spirit. She had a deep passion for knitting and crocheting, and her handmade gifts were treasured by many. A woman of faith, she was a founding member of the San Silverio Shrine in Dover Plains and a devoted member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla.

Though often joked that she was the Italian grandmother who couldn't cook, she more than made up for it with her warmth, wit, and love for her family.

A viewing will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Saturday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to the San Silverio Shrine of Dover Plains (124 Oakley Ave, White Plains, NY 10601) - a cause close to her heart.

Marie's legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who had the privilege to know her.
