Marie D. Behling

Marie D. Behling, 88, of North White Plains, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away March 9, 2014. Born June 13, 1925, to Anthony and Christina Dirmann. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Thomas W. Behling; twin sister, Antoinette Taroli; sisters Frances Bailey and Gertrude Wayne; brothers Frederick, Leonard, and Raymond Dirmann. Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas F. Behling, daughters Dr. Christine (Win) Wilson, Nancy (Bernard) McGuerty, Elizabeth (Brian) Kidder, and Mary Louise Behling; sons Peter (Deborah) Behling and Robert (Nancy) Behling; grandchildren: Matthew Wilson; Susan, Heather, Ben, Patrick (Stephanie), and Dr. Allison Marie (Dr. Milton Silva) McGuerty; Ken and Jeffrey Behling: Colby, Nate, and Evan Kidder; and Eleanor, Thomas, and Sean Behling; great-grandchildren Joel, Cristina, Tomas, and Evelyn Marie Silva. Marie was a kind and generous person who made friends easily and kept them close. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. A graduate of the Berkeley School in Manhattan, Marie worked for US plywood for 4 years, and as the secretary at Holy Name of Jesus School for many years before retiring. She was an active member of the Holy Name Rosary Altar Society and was recently honored as a fifty year member and past president. She was a longtime volunteer at Friday night Bingo, in the school library, and the Religious Education Program at Holy Name of Jesus Church.
