Marian Murphy

Marian C. Murphy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the age of 90, surrounded by her five loving children.  Marian was born in the Bronx, NY, on October 29, 1931, the daughter of Cecilia and George McFadden, both Irish immigrants.

Marian married her love, Frank Murphy, in 1960, raised her family in Cortlandt Manor, NY and retired in Holiday City, NJ. Marian returned to Westchester County after the passing of her husband, Frank, to live near her children and grandchildren.  Marian was a dedicated employee for many years at Chase Bank.

Marian is predeceased by her husband, Frank Murphy, of 47 years, brothers Jack McFadden, George McFadden, and her sisters Kathleen Sullivan and Patricia Ryan.  Marian is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Mary Ellen and Kevin Dervin, White Plains, NY, Carol and Jerry Daley, Mohegan Lake, NY, Fran and Kevin Dwyer, Mount Kisco, NY, Susan and Robert Nye, Chesapeake, VA; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jan Murphy, Thornwood, NY.  She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Lauren, Shannon, Margaret, Sean, Robbie, Brian, William, Landon, and Christopher. Marian's love for her large family was immeasurable and she leaves behind a cherished legacy.

Marian’s life was largely defined by her strong Catholic faith and her devotion to our God. Leading by example, Marian instilled her faith into her family. Also important to Marian was her deep-rooted love of her Irish heritage, which she also passed along to her family.

Marian's wit, candor, and humor never failed her and will always be remembered, as will all of the memories she created for her family.

Marian's final days were spent at Phelps Hospital where she was under the tender, loving care of the Phelps ICU and the palliative care team.
