Maria
Migoya
May 14, 1960 – April 22, 2026
Maria A. Migoya sadly passed away in Brookfield, CT, on April 22, 2026. She was 65 years old.
Born in Spain on May 14, 1960, Maria moved to the United States as a child andgrew up in the Bronx, NY. Her early years were marked by a rare balance of academic excellence and artistic talent. At Cardinal Spellman High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the twirler team, graduating with honors.
Maria's sharp mind led her to Manhattan College, where she tackled the rigorous, then male-dominated field of Chemical Engineering. She graduated cum laude witha Bachelor of Science, eventually embarking on a career as a chemical engineer.
While her career was built on logic and science, Maria's soul belonged to music. A gifted singer, she fronted several garage bands during her college years. Whether she was performing under the lights or practicing for hours with her band, music was her truest passion. She found particular inspiration in the work of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks-artists who mirrored her own free spirit and strength.
Despite her decades in New York and Connecticut, Maria remained deeply connected to her roots. Fluent in Spanish, she cherished her travels back to her birthplace in Spain, ensuring her heritage remained a vibrant part of her life.
Above all her accomplishments, Maria's greatest pride was her family. She raised her two daughters, Lauren and Brianna, in Connecticut. They were her strength and her lifeline, providing unwavering support throughout her life's journey.
Maria is survived by her loving daughters, Lauren and Brianna; her devoted parents, Etelvino and Maria; her siblings, Patricia and Nino; and her nieces and nephew. In the words of her favorite artist, Stevie Nicks, "She rules her life like a bird in flight." Maria now flies free, leaving behind a melody that will resonate forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
