Maria Forcone

Maria Forcone (nee Penirelli), age 84, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, in White Plains, New York surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born on October 29, 1940 in Montesarchio, Italy; daughter of the late Carmineantonio and Maria Grazia Penirelli (nee Cipriano). She immigrated to the United States in December of 1956. Maria brought with her a deep pride in her Italian heritage that remained a guiding light throughout her life.

A talented seamstress by trade, Maria possessed a remarkable gift for creating beauty with her hands. Her artistry with needle and thread was matched only by the warmth she extended to those around her. Whether she was sewing garments or preparing a meal from cherished family recipes, Maria poured love into everything she did.

Married on September 18,1966 Maria was the beloved wife of Aldino Forcone for 58 years. She was the devoted mother of three daughters: Susanna Mathisen and her husband Andrew, Lisa Forcone, and Dina DiMarco and her husband Frank. She was a proud Nonna to Angela Duva (Andrew), Kristina Perri (John), Nicholas Mathisen, and Daniela DiMarco. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her two great-granddaughters Natalie and Carina Duva.

Family was at the heart of Maria's world. As the matriarch of a close-knit family, she upheld treasured traditions passed down through generations. Her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and the joyful sounds of laughter during family gatherings. She found happiness in cooking, baking, sewing, shopping excursions, and most especially in spending time with those she loved.

Maria was also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Thomas Penirelli, Carmello Penirelli (Lorraine), Christina Clow (William), and Gina Penirelli as well as brothers, sisters in law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
