Margaret Lomuscio Vallaro, 91, of Baldwin Place, NY formerly of Valhalla, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22nd surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 27, 1934, in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph Lomuscio and Wanda Barrese.
Margaret was lovingly raised by her cherished grandparents, Anthony and Margaret Lomuscio - affectionately known as Mamoo and Papoo-who shaped the warmth and generosity that defined her life.
Margaret was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family and home.
She is survived by her four children: Paul (Lynn), Guy (Karen), Lauren Anne Macaluso and Marty (Candi). Her twelve grandchildren: Paul (Alex); Kelly Valera (Luis), Adam Macaluso (Raquel), Timothy Macaluso (Gianna), Francesca (Derek), Jared Macaluso, Joseph, Matthew, Victoria, Michael, Alexander, Anthony and her seven great-grandchildren: Meaghan Valera, Brandon Valera, Faith, Mia, Theocritus Macaluso, Luca, and Lucia Macaluso.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Barresi, her sister, Patricia Coles, and her beloved husband of 68 years, Frank J. Vallaro, with whom she built a lifetime of love, and dedication to family.
Margaret and Frank met while both were employed at NBW Bank in White Plains. Their early courtship was full of simple joys-bowling on Tuesdays at the bowling alley on Court Street and dancing on date nights at The Cobble Stone when Frank could borrow his brother Mickey's car.
Once she became a mother, Margaret devoted herself fully to raising her children. She volunteered for school activities, class trips, and later spent years volunteering at St Agnes Hospital in White Plains.
After her children were grown, Margaret worked at Linden Hill in Hawthorne, NY for 12 years where her kindness and gentle spirit touched many lives.
At home, Margaret was known for her warm heart, her generosity, her love of gardening, and for making the very best meatballs, struffoli, baked clams and antipasto, just to name a few-treasured traditions that will live on through her family. Nothing made her happier than caring for her grandchildren, watching their games, concerts, and performances, and celebrating every milestone of the generations she so lovingly nurtured.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She will be remembered always, and missed deeply by all who were blessed to know her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the many Nurses, Doctors, Staff and especially the Aids/Caregivers who are Angels at
The Paramount at Somers who have shown much love, laughter, compassion and dignified care to Margaret during her time there.
