Lil was known by all who came into contact with her as a lady through and through. She was kind, thoughtful, gracious, and loved unconditionally. She lived by the golden rule, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Lil’s essence was well described in a note written by a grand nephew on a recent birthday: “It was not the outside decor that attracted the young nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. It was the open-armed hospitality of a woman determined to make you smile and brighten your day. The greeting was always warm, sincere and loving. The tranquility and grace of such a woman and the things we learned from her graciousness were not wasted. It would mold us, teach us, and comfort us in how to be better men and women”.
Visitation at Hawthorne Funeral Home 11am - 1pm on Monday March 2, 2020, interment immediately following at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Lil’s honor be made to: Art Together, C/O Catherine Fetterman, 102 Carlton St., SW, Leesburg, VA 20175.
