Leo Grizzaffi

Leo Grizzaffi, age 89, formerly of Bronx, N.Y. and most recently of Wilton, CT. passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022. He was born in Corleone, a town in Sicily, Italy on November 2, 1932, to Leoluca and Mattea Grizzaffi. They brought their family of four sons and two daughters to America in the late 1940s. They all settled in the Bronx, NY. Leo was 19 years old when he completed an apprenticeship and became a skilled bricklayer. He married his wife, Louise, in December 1954. Louise predeceased him in November 2009. After Louise passed away, his children moved Leo to Connecticut where he enjoyed time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Martha and Michele, his son, Leo, his sons-in-law, Ray and Chris, and his daughter-in-law, Patricia.  He was so proud of his five grandchildren, Steven, Leo, Ryan, Brandon, and Sabrina.

Leo will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  We will all miss his warm kindness to others and smiling face.

Reposing, at the Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6,2022 from 4-8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 7,2022 at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, NY, followed by Entombment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
