Laurence "Larry" Rosen of New Rochelle and Mohegan Lake, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 5, 2024. Born in Chicago to Irving and Gertrude (Steer) Rosen, Larry grew up in White Plains. He attended Woodlands High School before going on to graduate from Wilbraham Academy. Larry received a BA degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, with a major in Sociology and an MA in Counseling from Hunter College.
At Ohio Wesleyan Larry made life long friends, many of whom were with him during his last weeks and days. As a counselor in the New York City Schools, Larry had a lasting impact on the many middle school students he worked with. He was a basketball coach, a softball umpire, an avid fisherman, but most importantly a great friend and a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew.
Larry was survived by his mother Gertrude Rosen, who passed away several weeks later. He is survived by his sister Nan Statton (Ronald), nephews Evan Statton (Cori), Matthew Statton (Laura), niece Kate Statton Harman (Andrew) and great-nephew Samuel Harman.
