Kristie Smithson

March 29, 1974 — December 20, 2022

White Plains, NY

Kristie Yvonne Smithson, a committed and loving nurse residing in White Plains, NY, died unexpectedly of an Asthma attack on December 20, 2022 at the age of 48.
Kristie was born March 29, 1974, in White Plains, NY, she attended Alice E. Grady Elementary, Alexander Hamilton High School and got her nursing license at Westchester Boces.

She is survived by son Jaylin who just recently became a United States Marine, parents Olivia & Roger Smithson, brother Terrence Smithson (Wife Anna), aunts Beverly Villa and Carol Robinson, ex-husband and father to Jaylin Swinney - Sydney Swinney and a myriad of cousins, family and a host of amazing friends.

Kristie was a protector, a caregiver and a source of comfort and love to all that knew her. She took her duties as a nurse very seriously for her dialysis patients while at Bradhurst and Wakc: DCI Clinic.

Kristie's favorite things varied, which speaks to her love for life. She loved the beauty in salt water fish tanks, the life in Bonsai plants, the safety of the Volkswagens, the vibrancy of roses and gladiolus, the simple joys of cartoons like the Jetsons or the thrill of scary movies - her fav being "American Horror Story." She also loved the drama of all the best reality TV shows, calling her mother or sister in law to recap the fun. She never missed an opportunity to make sure her hair and nails were done, and expressed her creativity so gracefully through several tattoos including a favorite which was a picture of a red rose captured by her father that she made into a tattoo.

The biggest love in her life was her son Jaylin, who she dedicated her heart and soul to providing love and support. She loved to go apple picking with him, listen to him play the piano and guitar or perform at Jazz at Lincoln Center; she loved to laugh and talk with him about everything, or go for long drives together once he got his license. Most recently she was extremely proud of Jaylin for his bravery, selflessness and dedication to serve and protect - proving to be the amazing man she raised him to be.

Kristie Yvonne Smithson was a light and a gift to the world. Please join us in celebrating her life and ensure to surround her family with positivity and love.
