"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough" - Mae West.
Karl Fritsch was born somewhere in the borough of Brooklyn, NY on September 26,1934 to Parents Erich and Erna (nee Somer) Fritsch. He was raised in the Yorkville section of Manhattan and as a young boy an inspiration to build bridges led to a passionate and fulfilling career as a Civil Engineer.
From life in their neighborhood he met and married Elinor Margaret Hansen and together they shared a life raising two boys, Eric and Stephen in a 37 year marriage. After Elinor's passing he was lucky to share two decades with his second wife, Jane Rhodes/Khyl/Fritsch. He found great joy in the lives of his grandchildren and was known to say you can never have too many. Karl enjoyed sports and fostered that passion in his sons. He particularly enjoyed golf making it a big part of his life. He also enjoyed the arts, attending Opera at the Met regularly through the years.
He is survived by his sons Eric and Stephen, daughter-in-laws Caroline Collins and Cheryl Fritsch and his grandchildren Kelsey, Scott, Brodie and Jacqueline. Karl lived a full life. He loved a party and was an optimist who never held a grudge and had a talent for weaving the word "Delightful" in describing the happenings in his life.
