Juan Lago Cabaleiro 88 years old at 29 Howard Ave. White Plains, NY born in Spain passed away peacefully in his home as he wished on Wednesday March 2nd.
Juan was born in the Parrochi of Trasmano a province of Pontevedra Spain on June 22, 1933, his parents were Francisco Cabaleiro and Isolina Lago. He obtained his education in Spain and spent a good deal of time working on fishing boats and served in the navy. He then came to the United States of America to live and became a US citizen in the 1960’s.
Juan was married for 63 years to Clementina Pineda. They lived in Mamaroneck, Scarsdale, and White Plains NY. Mr. Cabaleiro began with working as a Superintendent of building in Scarsdale on Garth Road, Custodian, and Head custodian, at Church in the Highlands and handyman. He developed a strong customer following and started his on business. He maintained his own business until retirement.
Juan was known as honest, hard worker and was the definition of family first. He loved the sea and was an avid fisherman. He liked to walk and bike as well.
Juan left quite the legacy five (5) children; Victoria, Rosa, Juan Jr., Luis, and Carlos. Eleven (11) grandchildren; Michael, Robert, Danyelle, Christina, Nichole, John William, Liam, Michaela, Brandon, Little Vicky, and Lynda. Lastly, five (5) great grandchildren; Olivia, Mason, Keegan, Brayden and Camila. He has one surviving sister Gina that lives in Spain, a nephew Francisco Cabaleiro and his wife Rosalina along with #23+ great nephews and nieces that reside in both the USA (Rosalyn and Diego) and Spain.
Visitation will take place on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Ballard Durand Funeral Home located at 2 Maple Ave. White Plains NY 10601, from 2PM to 6PM. The prayer service is scheduled for 4PM Saturday afternoon during the viewing.
I would like to thank ArchCare PACE program, the whole interdisciplinary team and home health aides in assisting the family in making Juan Cabaleiro’s wish of being at home with family until he decided it was his time to transition and join his wife Clementina Cabaleiro in heaven to happen.
